In the newsletter \u201cBasic Sanitation Legal Framework\u201d, our Projects & Infrastructure team explains the main changes and innovations brought by Bill of Law 4,162 \/ 2019, approved by the Federal Senate on June 24, 2020 and currently awaiting sanction by the President of the Republic.<\/p>\n
Among others, the newsletter addresses the replacement of Program Agreements by bidding processes, with the participation of public and private companies; the expansion of the National Water Agency (ANA) powers; the regionalized provision of sanitation and water supply services, by the formation of groups of municipalities; as well as the universalization goals provided for in the Legal Framework.<\/p>\n
Supporters of the Legal Framework estimate that the new model will attract private investment, improve the quality of services, stimulate the resumption of the economy and generate about 1 (one) million jobs in the next five years, helping Brazil to rise after the crisis arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n
