New partner Ana Paula Chagas joins Paulo Bessa and Vilmar Gon\u00e7alves to further develop the firm’s Brazilian and international activities<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n

Campos Mello Advogados (CMA) adds new blood to its Environmental Law, Climate Change and ESG Practice. New partner Ana Paula Chagas<\/a> will join the CMA team next Monday, the 25th. Ana holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Law from Paris Panth\u00e9on-Sorbonne University and is the current Chairperson of the Brazilian Bar Association Environmental Commission. She boasts solid experience in the renewable energy, infrastructure and mining industries and in agribusiness.<\/p>\n

Ana feels ESG and climate change concerns are now key for any business. ” ESG and Climate Change are intrinsically linked and became the number priority in the board and CEO\u2019s agenda. Take under consideration the ESG aspects in the decision making and in the companies\u2019 strategy definition became crucial to the business continuity and growth. CMA’s ESG practice is growing rapidly, following the same strategy as DLA Piper, the global office to which it is associated. Two other new partners joined this practice last week: Paulo de Bessa Antunes, a reference in environmental law in Brazil with 30 years’ experience as Federal Prosecutor; and Vilmar Gon\u00e7alves, environmental law and strategic litigation specialist and Head of Arbitration at CBMA – Brazilian Center for Mediation and Arbitration.<\/p>\n
