Campos Mello Advogados Announces Three New Partners

With this move, the firm bolsters its Tax and Real Estate practices and reaffirms its commitment to sustained growth.

Following the integration of Schmidt Valois in September, Campos Mello Advogados (CMA) takes another step in its expansion and institutional strengthening by promoting three associates to partners: Laura Kurth, Gabriel Mynssen, and Cristiano Schiller. This initiative consolidates CMA’s growth strategy on two fronts: attracting prominent industry leaders and fostering internal talent.

The promotions enhance the firm’s seniority and strengthen key practice areas, including Tax and Real Estate, while reinforcing its value proposition to clients and the broader market. With these appointments, CMA now has 36 partners, 13 of whom began their careers as associates, representing over 35% of the current partnership. This figure underscores the firm’s culture of recognition and professional development, which distinguishes CMA in the legal market.

Laura Kurth joined CMA in 2016 and advises clients on strategic tax planning, offering expertise in direct and indirect taxation, corporate reorganizations, M&A transactions and international taxation, including the application of tax treaties, transfer pricing rules, and OECD Pillar 2.

With over 15 years of experience in Tax Litigation, Gabriel Mynssen joined CMA in 2010. He represents clients in administrative and judicial proceedings, focusing on high-stakes cases for national and multinational companies involving federal, state, and municipal taxes.

With 16 years at CMA, Cristiano Schiller has built a solid career in Real Estate Law, participating in the due diligence, structuring and coordination of various transactions, including land-for-revenue and land-for-units exchange agreements, corporate acquisitions of real estate assets, built-to-suit leases, construction contracts, and the acquisition of credits secured by real estate. He has extensive experience drafting residents’ association bylaws and condominium bylaws for complex developments such as shopping malls, technology parks and sustainable projects. He also advises on land regularization for projects in the oil, gas and renewable energy sectors.

“This milestone underscores the consistency of our growth. Recognizing professionals who have built their careers with us ensures technical excellence and continuity for our clients while enhancing our capacity to support strategic and complex decision-making,” says Rafael Bussière, Deputy Managing Partner (RJ), Partner, and Co-Head of Real Estate at CMA.
