Campos Mello Advogados’ partner to be part of a panel discussing conflict of generations in the workspace at DIVE IN Festival

Event gathers major insurance companies, brokers, underwriters and associated service providers in the industry to discuss diversity and inclusion

Rio de Janeiro, September 18, 2020 – As Generation Z enters the workforce and the life expectation increases every year, meaning that Baby Boomers are part of the senior level of companies, companies are faced with challenges: the need for a space where individuals of different generations are encouraged to collaborate rather than become a source of conflict due to different life experiences, values and expectations. The end result should be positive, by encouraging the well-being of employees and increasing the creative potential of corporations. Marcela Hill, partner and leader of the insurance and reinsurance practice of Campos Mello Advogados (CMA), spoked in the “Generations and the Future of Work” panel to discuss the challenges she has faced in her career and how to have generations working together and thriving. The panel was on 23 September 2020, 10:30 am, as part of the Dive In Festival, with simultaneous translation into LIBRAS (Brazilian Sign Language). CMA took part in the initiative to organise the event, as part of DLA Piper’s global sponsorship.

Dive In Festival for Diversity & Inclusion in Insurance has taken place every year since 2015. The event, bringing together major companies, was born in London, England, on the initiative of Inclusion@Lloyds. In the following year, it was held in 10 countries and, in 2019, in 32. This year, over 90 global and local panels are scheduled, all of which will take place online between September 22 and 24. In addition to generational impact, the debates will address mental health, new family arrangements, as well as gender, race, and disability issues. The event is open to all insurance company employees.

“Our debate will be a great opportunity to discuss how the pandemic has caused even more disruption for the workforce, as generations have had to meet online rather than face-to-face,” ponders Marcela Hill. “This new reality will have an impact to people’s lives, how we socialise, and ultimately to companies. Therefore, the risks and concerns that individual and businesses have are shifting, which means the insurance industry will need to have a closer look at products and services on offer from now on.” Marcella Hill, who works in London, will be with specialists in generational relations in the workforce: Ricardo Sales (partner, Mais Diversidade); Morris Litvak (CEO, Maturi Jobs); Graziella Castilho (president, Junior Achievement) and Daniel Cunha (Claims director / Generations Group sponsor, Chubb).
